Financial Instruments and Exchange Act

We provide advice on the various regulations pertaining to the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, financial Instruments exchanges, and the Japan Securities Dealers Association, as well as on the guidelines formulated by the Financial Services Agency (FSA) and other government agencies in relation to Type I and Type II Financial Instruments Business, the investment management business and investment advisory business involved in setting up and running a fund, and specially-permitted businesses for Qualified Institutional Investors, and we also conduct the negotiations involved in the registration and notification process with the financial authorities. We not only provide advice on individual cases, but can also assist with building internal systems, such as developing systems for avoiding conflicts of interest, ensuring regulatory compliance, as well as developing and enhancing the accounts books and ledgers. We have the structures in place to be capable of dealing in a timely manner with the frequent statutory and regulatory revisions. In particular, recently we have handled increasing numbers of matters pertaining to the setting up and running of real estate funds, and funds relating to investments in both listed stocks and stocks in unlisted companies, and funds relating to investments in solar powered electricity projects.
